Application Details
This page helps you get to know how our application works and a little of what it looks like.
Business/Charger Stucture
The Application supports your organisation having multiple locations and within those locations multiple Chargers.

Each Charger defined in the App gets connected to a Shelly Switch and Shelly E-Meter. These devices are installed at your Charger location.

For each Charger in the App you define the following characteristics:
-
Plug Type
-
Maximum Charging Rate in kWs
-
Charge by kWh or Hours
-
Charge Fee in Dollars
-
If Charging Cable is Required
-
Charger Make and Model
-
Holding Fee per Hour if the customer does not vacate the bay.

Charger Control
Charge Initiation
-
Charging is initiated from a web page. Drivers scan a QR code that you print off and fix to your Charger.
-
Once the driver completes the "Charge Form" the system turns on the Charger.
Charge by Hour
-
The Charger will run for the selected period of time. The driver is charged by the hour.
Charge by kWh
-
The system will charge the vehicle until the preselected kWh has been consumed, or the car is fully charged. The driver is charged for kWhs consumed.
End Charge
-
Once the charge is complete the Charger is turned off. The driver is notified via SMS and requested to move their vehicle from the bay.
-
The driver is also requested to respond to the SMS once the vehicle is moved. At this point the invoice is generated, the fee deduced from their credit card, and a receipt link is send via SMS to the driver

Real Time Information for EV Drivers
ViewCharger Status and Book from PlugShare
-
From your charger identity in PlugShare EV drivers can easily click on a link you have inserted in the information field to view the status of the chargers on your site. Status include; Available, InProgress, Idle, Unavailable
-
If the status is not Available and estimated availability time is displayed.
In the Idle status (charge finished by bay still occupied) an EV Driver wanting to charge can have the system notify the Driver of the car in the charging bay, by SMS, that someone is waiting to charge and for the owner to please move their vehicle.

Charge Status While Charge is in progress.
By sending an SMS to EVamp system a driver can request an update of the charge status of their vehicle. This status notification will advise the total power added in kWh and current charging rate in kW. This system will also advise if their vehicle is over 80% charged.

Drivers' can also book a charging session if this feature is turned on. This gives them assurance that they will be able to charge there car on arrival.

If the booking is due to be started in the next hour the charger can only be started using the booking Id.

Review Bookings and Block Out Availablity
Client bookings can be viewed and managed via the evamp application.

Charger "Block Out" periods can be added using recurring events. This is particular relevant for private owners where their charger may only be available at certain times of the day, eg when they at the office, and maybe not available on weekends.

When clients book the charge the system stops them booking an time that overlaps another client booking or a block out period.
